What material are these tablecloths made from?
Our tablecloths are made from 100% French flax linen — the same fabric as our bedding range. Linen is naturally strong, breathable, and develops a beautiful, relaxed texture with use. One style, the Gimlet Tablecloth, is made from 100% cotton — a fun, printed alternative for casual dining.
How do I care for a linen tablecloth?
Machine wash cold or warm (up to 40°C) with a gentle detergent. Tumble dry on low or line dry, removing while slightly damp to reduce creasing. A light iron on medium heat will smooth it out if preferred, though linen's natural, relaxed look is part of its charm. Do not bleach.
Do linen tablecloths soften with washing?
Yes — linen softens significantly with each wash and becomes more beautiful over time. Fresh from the pack it has a crisp, textured feel; after a few washes it relaxes into a wonderfully tactile, lived-in fabric that drapes elegantly across the table.
What sizes are available, and which table will they fit?
Our rectangular linen tablecloths measure 150cm x 270cm — ideal for a 6–8 seat dining table with an elegant overhang on all sides. The round tablecloth is available in Small (120cm), Medium (180cm), and Large (240cm) to suit round dining tables of varying sizes. When selecting, choose a cloth larger than your table to allow for an attractive drop.
Will linen tablecloths shrink in the wash?
Linen can shrink slightly on first wash, so we recommend washing before use to allow for any natural relaxation in the fabric. After the first wash, the cloth will remain stable. Avoid hot wash cycles and high-heat drying to preserve size and texture.
Can I mix and match with linen napkins?
Absolutely — our napkins are made from the same 100% French flax linen and are designed to coordinate seamlessly with the tablecloth range. Mix tones, layer patterns, or keep it classic in a single colour — the linen palette is curated to work together beautifully.
